Warn 8274 High Mount Winch

Brake Shaft support bearing.

If you are rebuilding or restoring the popular Warn highmount 8274 model chances are after years of

abuse or sitting idle, the brake shaft support bearing will be rusted or siezed.

This bearing is responsible for supporting the most loaded component in the Warn Highmount design - the brake shaft.

This shaftnot only transfers drive, but also applies the braking force to the drum when you are hanging off the rope or cable.

A siezed bearing will slow the winch down, cause wear on the shaft and lead to premature failure of the shaft and/or winch.

The picture shows the location of the bearing fitted to an 8274 housing. - (Housing not included)

Always ensure the inner race is greased before installation and when serviced.
