Check valves are required to stop the air leaving your tank back through the compressor, Makes for cheap insurance for any compressor!

This has a few bad effects….

· Your tank is empty when you need it,

· Positive air pressure back through the compressor is bad for it,

· Some manufacturers will not warranty a compressor without one
