For all of us who have put larger tyres onto our cars, we suffer from a loss of acceleration and Low range crawling ability.

Fitting different ratios can bring back the acceleration for mud holes and those steep high country hills we all love, In the sand it’s like having another gear, changing ratios can bring your low range back to life, If you have taller than std tyres fitted, depending on the height of tyre the 4.625 ratio will bring you back to slightly on the better side of std , so slightly higher highway revs which the Diesels love, they get their best economy, Any tyre that is taller than standard can have this effect. So when your Speedo is saying 100 on 35” tyres, you will be pretty close to it, unlike now being about 15klms out.
